P2 Apple Sauce

P2 Apple Sauce

Applesauce is an easy to make dish known for having a tangy, sweet flavor and it’s made with just a few basic ingredients. Great choice for an afternoon snack for you and your family or you can serve as a side dish for any holiday.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium-sized apple
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 1-2 packets powdered stevia (Sweetleaf)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Peel, core and dice your apple into small pieces (about ½-inch).
  2. Place the diced apple pieces into a small crockpot or small pot with a lid.
  3. Add the water and desired amount of cinnamon.
  4. Cook the chopped apple mixture for about two hours over low heat or until soft. If you are using a pot on the stove method, make sure to stir the apple pieces every 20-30 minutes to prevent them from sticking to the pan.
  5. When the apple pieces are finished cooking, mash with fork until the mixture has reached your desired consistency.
  6. Add your preferred amount of powdered stevia. Remember to add less and taste before adding more to avoid overly sweet applesauce.
  7. For smooth applesauce, place the apple pieces into a blender and pulse until it has reached your desired consistency.
  8. Serve warm, if desired, or cover and place in the fridge for about an hour. Enjoy!
