This stuffed tomato recipe with ground beef is easy, delicious, and works as a side dish and comforting main dish. The recipe combines fresh Italian herbs & spices with lean ground beef and tomato pulp stuffed into tomato shells, then baked in the oven to perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 beefsteak tomatoes
- 7 oz lean ground beef
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 packet stevia
- dash salt
- dash pepper
- dash oregano
- 1 Grissini or WASA, crushed
Instructions
Cut the tops off the tomatoes. Scoop out the insides and place aside. Lay tomatoes upside down on paper towel to drain.
Brown Ground beef and drain. Add tomato pulp and seasonings. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 45-50 minutes.
Stuff tomatoes and sprinkle tops with Grissini or WASA crumbs.
Bake at 325 for 20 minutes
